Rare dresser “Mirtide”
This dresser was designed by architect Ignazio Gardella in 1985 as part of his collaboration with the firm Misuraemme, based in Mariano Comense, in the Brianza "furniture district" north of Milan.
The collection included the Mirtide dresser, the Corinna bedside tables, and the Pindaro bed, all made of glossy lacquered wood with strongly architectural forms. These pieces are extremely rare, as they have been produced since 1985 and went out of production before 1990. In particular, this chest of drawers has not yet appeared on the market.
We managed to acquire it, together with its two complementary nightstands, from the stock of a historic furniture store in the province of Pavia. They feature a beautiful glossy gunmetal grey lacquered finishing.
This piece is therefore in excellent condition, having only been displayed in the showroom and then later moved to storage. There are only very small signs of wear and some minimal scratches from handling over the years.
Also within Gardella's collaboration with Misuraemme, we recall the Partenio table and Elegie bookcase, the latter a re-edition of the original Azucena model.
We'd like to thank Misuraemme for helping us finding informations about this model in their archive.
