Model “12645” large wall lamp
This rare and important wall lamp was designed by Angelo Lelii in 1957, for Arredoluce. Documented as model No. 12645, this wall sconce is distinguished by an appearance that manages to combine innovation and tradition, as in many of the great Italian designer's creations. An innovative material such as yellow perspex, recurring in Arredoluce lamps, is combined with more conventional ones such as enameled brass and opaline duplex glass. The modern shape of the perspex diffuser is also combined with the more classic shape of the lampshade, which recalls a candle holder.
The lamp remains in excellent vintage condition, with small signs of age and use. The mark “Arredoluce” is embossed in the wall plate.
Angelo Lelii was one of the masters of Italian lighting in the 1950s along with Gino Sarfatti and Giuseppe Ostuni, and just like them he was also an entrepreneur, founding the company Arredoluce in Monza and making his creations with it.
